The TV series "Man From U.N.C.L.E." was one of my favourites when growing up. It had a great mix of action, martial arts, and espionage with a spoof of the spy genre underpinning it. Unfortunately, this movie has not aged well, despite it being one of the better examples of the movie spin-offs of the TV series. Modern special effects and intricate story telling have left movies like this in the dust!
Some things that are worth looking out for in this offering include the following:
- # Azalea (Lola Albright) wearing a cheesy grin in every scene she appears in.
- # Annie (Carol Lynley) wearing several revealing miniskirts, 1960's style.
- # Napoleon (Robert Vaughn) at the top of his suave acting style, and
- # Ilya (David McCallum) at his best in the martial arts scenes.
Worth watching if you were a fan of the TV series, but modern day action/drama/thriller movies have overtaken them. Worth a nostalgic look 6/10
